welcome

Welcome to the Alpha Omega Nova Southeastern University School of Dentistry’s Tau Alpha Mu chapter.

About Tau Alpha Mu

Tau Alpha Mu has had an amazing year rebuilding and restructuring. The Fraternity has successfully hosted monthly academic tutoring events for both first and second year students, spanning the subjects of Dental Anatomy, Gross Anatomy, Endodontics, and Fixed Prosthodontics among others. Tau Alpha Mu also held a sold out school wide social evening in Downtown Fort Lauderdale that benefited the entire Dental, Optometry and Law school. In addition, the chapter has held smaller social events for its members and organized a much anticipated Snorkeling/Kayaking trip in the Florida Keys.

In the coming months, the frat will hold an initiation banquet for its 40 new members this year, head down to the Everglades for fun and exploration, host a networking weekend in Ft Lauderdale with the Beta Beta chapter from the University of Florida, as well as other monthly socials for its members. Furthermore, Tau Alpha Mu hopes to expand into the realm of service and continuing education by participating in local health fairs, hosting a seminar on Forensics in Dentistry, offering events to Pre-Dental societies in South Florida universities and engaging in joint functions with the South Florida Alumni Chapter. Last but not least, the chapter is creating a brand new website and has added new board positions to accommodate the tremendous growth and success of this past year and the achievements we strive for in this exciting new year.

President’s Update July 2008

Tau Alpha Mu’s 2007-2008 year was very successful. We offered more events than ever before, and we have a great group of members. I am pleased to announce that we have a new Board, who I am looking forward to working with. I am confident that they will surpass the success that we had last year and make Tau Alpha Mu even better this year. We are in the process of organizing our upcoming social events (Pool Party and Beach Bash in the summer months). We look forward to meeting all the incoming D1s and helping them adjust to the rigors of their first year at Nova.
